”All Change and Mind the Gap – Moja londyńska pasja” – Wykład Profesora
W ostatnich tygodniach STP podjęło nową inicjatywę polegającą na organizacji serii wykładów architektonicznych pod nazwą „Architectural Moments”. W skład grupy projektowej organizującej wykłady wchodzą: Roman Hałat, Maxi Hamilton i Artur Kramarczyk. Patronat nad wykładami objęła Ambasada Polska w Londynie.
Pierwszy z wykładów odbył się dniu 15 października w Ognisku Polskim i dotyczył zagadnień związanych z planowaniem przestrzennym w Londynie. Wykład został poprowadzony przez profesora Petera Wynne Rees. Profesor Rees pracował jako przez wiele lat (1985 – 2014) jako planista w londyńskim city kierując jednostką zajmującą się planowaniem i rozwojem architektonicznym tego światowego centrum biznesu i finansów. Obecnie profesor Rees udziela wykładów w wielu krajach poza granicami Wielkiej Brytanii oraz doradza władzom miejskim w tematach związanych z planowaniem przestrzennym. Profesor Rees został wybrany do listy “Debrett’s 500”, lista ta jest zestawieniem najbardziej inspirujących i wpływowych ludzi w Wielkiej Brytanii. W roku 2015 został uhonorowany tytułem CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) za zasługi związane z planowaniem architektonicznym oraz miejskim.
”All Change and Mind the Gap – My Passion for London” – Lecture by Professor Peter Wynne Rees CBE
In recent weeks the Association of Polish Engineers in Great Britain undertook a new initiative called “Architectural Moments “. Architectural Moments consist of series of lectures about architecture, planning and design. The project is led by: Roman Halat, Maxi Hamilton and Artur Kramarczyk under patronage of the Polish Embassy in London.
First of the lecturers was held on 15th October in The Polish Hearth Club, 55 Exhibition Road. The lecture was held by Professor Peter Wynee Rees. As City Planning Officer for the City of London, Professor Rees led the planning and regeneration of this world business and financial centre from 1985 to 2014. He lectures internationally, advises developers and cities around the world on urban planning and design, and makes frequent media appearances on these topics.He was included in the “Debrett’s 500” list of the most inspiring and influential people in Great Britain. In 2015, he was appointed a CBE (Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) “for services to architecture and town planning”.
