About Us

The Association of Polish Engineers in Great Britain (pol. Stowarzyszenie Techników Polskich w Wielkiej Brytanii – STP) is an independent, self-governing scientific and technical organization that brings together engineers, architects, scientists, technicians and students living and working in the United Kingdom. The STP includes people and institutions representing various disciplines of technical sciences, as well as enthusiasts of broadly understood science and technology.

Our Association was founded on September 7, 1940 by Polish engineers who, as a result of the outbreak of World War II, found themselves in the British Isles. For over 75 years, we have been continuously implementing the mission set out in the first Statute of the Association, which was focused on supporting the professional and personal development of polish science and technology community. We accomplish our mission through:

  • Organisation of training courses and classes

  • Organisation of workshops, seminars and conferences.

  • Mentoring i coaching for members of the Association

  • Creating space for exchange of ideas and experiences

  • Supporting the integration of Polish community into the British society

  • Collaboration with engineering organisations in the United Kingdom, Poland and other countries

  • Providing support to members in need through STP Benevolent Fund

The Association is registered in the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation number 06770675. The headquarters of the Association is located in the Polish Social and Cultural Centre (POSK) in London.
